Powerful Patron Perks: with Parker!
This is Parker. I can honesty say that Parker is one of my new favourite humans. They signed up for some one-on-one cooking sessions with me as part of their Patreon reward level, but I don’t think either of us knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into: new friendship, so much fun, and deep risk taking and fear facing in the kitchen!
Parker and I get to go nice and slow in the kitchen together - mostly because we are laughing too hard to go much faster than a speedy turtle - and it is so, so nice. I need lots of time to lay out ingredients, understand my recipes, and make sure I’m not heightening any hidden anxieties that might be lurking in the corners of my brain. I think Parker appreciates this approach too. It’s so amazing to be able to take the values of Stump Kitchen the online show and infuse them into these cooking sessions!
We made the most amazing, cheesy, creamy, savoury broccoli cheese soup together (entirely vegan and gluten free of course) and Parker was the key chef the entire time. Due to a slight dislike of onions, we blended all parts of the soup even though the recipe didn’t call for it - and wow was that ever a good idea! Some folks might force themselves to ‘get over’ a fear of a certain food and try to make themselves eat it - we didn’t take that approach, no way. Instead we snuck behind the fear and blended the f#%k out the onions, so it was a win win!
Folks can cook with me online, in person, or in a group by signing up for a cooking class through my website or becoming a Patron at certain levels. Cooking with folks is one of the most amazing things I get to do with my job, so bring it on!
